At Williams Bros Brewing, we’re proud to be part of the line up for Oktoberfest @ The Barras, one of Glasgow’s best beerfests.
We can’t wait to see you there. And if you are thinking about buying tickets for Oktoberfest @ The Barras, we’re here to answer any questions you might have.
What is Oktoberfest @ The Barras?
Oktoberfest the Barras is a beer & drink festival hosted by BAaD (The Barras Art & Design) venue in Glasgow.
It brings together craft breweries, local beverage producers, food stalls, and live entertainment, to celebrate beer, food and Bavaria.
When and where will the festival happen?
The festival is held at the BAaD venue, at the world famous Barras Market in Glasgow, on Saturday 18th October. The event will be both inside the venue as well as under cover in their courtyard. Tickets are available now, for this all day event.
Will Williams Bros be present?
Absolutely, Williams Bros Brewing Co. will be on site, offering a selection of draught and canned beers.

What Williams Bros craft beer pour would you recommend trying first?
-
Start with Juicy Joker if you like juicy / hazy IPAs — it’s a “gateway” hop bomb but with softer edges.
-
If you prefer something more classic, bitter and crisp, Old Skool offers that West Coast hop bite.
-
If you want something lighter (or you’re pacing yourself), Caesar Augustus is intriguing: a lager-IPA hybrid, and gluten-free — good for wider accessibility.
-
Try Orange Ginger as a palate refresher or fun twist: nothing about hops, all about about spice, citrus + ginger.
-
For those wanting dark or non-hoppy styles, sample the stout in cans.
-
If you’re after something low to no-alcohol but still flavorful, the AF lager can is a smart pick (especially for designated drivers or those pacing themselves).
Any tips for festival goers to make the most of Williams Bros’ presence (or the festival in general)?
-
Arrive early. Oktoberfest @ The Barras starts at 11am and the more interesting beers may run low later in the day.
-
Talk to our pourers / brewery reps. They’ll be able to share backstories about the beers, ingredients, or new things in the pipeline.
-
Sample smaller pours first, especially when exploring multiple styles (so you don’t overdo it).
-
Don’t ignore the “side” or novel beers (like Orange Ginger). Sometimes those surprise the most.
-
Take note of what you liked. Everything we bring to Oktoberfest @ The Barras is available to buy online.
What should I check before going?
-
Festival lineups can shift. Double check the event page closer to the date for updates.
-
Some beers (especially specialty or small-batch ones) may run out, so go early if there’s a must-try.
-
If using public transport, check schedules for return trips (some late sessions may end late).
-
Bring ID. You don’t want to miss out because you can’t prove your age.
-
Be prepared for the weather, wear comfortable shoes, and pace yourself.
