We are absolutely delighted to inform everyone of our success at this year's Society of Independent Brewers beer competition.
Caesar Augustus picked up Silver in the Standard Lager & Pilsner category but the real star of the show for us was our Williams Black which picked up Gold in the Standard Mild & Brown Ales category then went on to pick up Supreme Champion of the Cask Beer Competition.
Scott Williams was delighted to receive the award & said: “This was one of our very first beers we ever brewed, so for it to still be winning awards is amazing... Mild has an image as an older, more old-fashioned style but it’s a great beer. Maybe Mild is the new IPA.”
Ok maybe saying Mild is the new IPA is a bit of a stretch, but Williams Black has now become our most successful competition beer.
Once again Scottish beer did incredibly well in the competition, with our fellow Scottish brewers picking up over a third of the Gold awards, a great achievement for such a small country, there must be something in the water!
Congratulations to all the other award winners, and of course our team here at Kelliebank for their tireless work and dedication.
